We highly recommend hiking or skiing around Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area and checking out Kathryn Albertson Park. Go rafting or kayaking at Barber Park along the Boise River. It’s not far from the downtown area, so you can treat yourself to lunch and a pint after.
There are plenty of museums in Boise, including the Boise Art Museum, the Basque Museum and Cultural Center, the Idaho Historical Museum, and the Idaho Black History Museum. Kids and adults will enjoy an afternoon at the Aquarium of Boise or Zoo Boise.
