Every Super Duty truck has the same engine options. The standard is a 6.2-liter Flex-Fuel V8 gasoline engine. For more towing power, there is an available 6.7-liter Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel.

Ford F-250 Super Duty
With the Turbo Diesel engine, theF-250tows up to 18,000 pounds; with the gas-powered V8, it hauls up to 15,000 pounds. Gooseneck/5th-wheel towing for the diesel maximizes this number to 18,500 pounds, and the gas-powered V8 reaches 15,800 pounds.
Ford F-350/F-450 Super Duty
For the F-350 with two rear wheels, its conventional towing hits 18,000 pounds with the diesel engine and 15,000 with the gas engine. This increases to 21,500 and 16,600 pounds respectively for gooseneck/5th-wheel towing.
For both the F-350 and F-450 with dual rear wheels, conventional towing tows as much as 21,000 pounds with the diesel engine and 16,700 with the gas engine. For gooseneck/5th-wheel towing, these models can handle up to 35,000 pounds with the diesel engine and 21,000 with the gas engine.
