2018 Ford F-150
The Ford F-150 will receive a refresh for the new model year, adding new engine options and boasting better towing than ever. The most popular truck in America continues to innovate with outstanding performance and features in the 2018 F-150, which will go on sale this fall.
The 2018 Ford F-150 will offer a new 3.3-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine as well as modify the available 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 and the 5.0-liter V8 engine. The brand new 3.3-liter V6 now gets both direct injection and port injection, with the port injection working at low speeds and smaller loads and the direct injection taking over for high speeds and heavy loads.
This lets the 3.3-liter, which replaces the 3.5-liter of the previous model year, get a horsepower boost to 290 and a torque boost to 265 lb-ft, compared to last year’s 282 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque. This dual-injection system is also featured on the 2.7-liter EcoBoost and the 5.0-liter V8, which both get a boost in torque of about 25 lb-ft.
Besides the 3.3-liter, which will come with a six-speed transmission, the F-150’s four other engines will come with Ford’s brand-new ten-speed automatic transmission. All five engines will come with fuel-saving auto start/stop technology.
